Operate With Intention
Helios has a robust performance management program that includes individual development plans for each employee to grow their skills and accomplish their personal and professional goals. We have a successful mentoring program to provide employees with a champion providing consistent feedback, while also ensuring knowledge is shared throughout the organization. We are intentional about investing in our team by providing tuition reimbursement, paid association memberships, training and development opportunities, and encouraging our team to attend industry events of interest.
Whether we are practicing our dance moves with a private Zumba instructor, playing practical jokes, having a bake-off, or reading a new book for book club, Helios keeps employee engagement high. We coach and develop employees to provide and welcome open and honest feedback, including conducting Voice of the Employee survey and employee stay interviews throughout the year. Creating an engaging environment where our employees feel valued is incredibly important to us.
What better way to demonstrate how much we care about our employees than by recognition and rewards? We express our gratitude in a number of different ways. We have our quarterly Reach for the Stars program, which publicly recognizes employees in front of the entire organization and then more informally with on-the-spot recognition and peer-to-peer praise through our internal digital social media site, Yammer. We have several incentives to recognize excellent performance including a vacation to the white sandy beaches of Mexico!
Make BIG Things Happen
We make big things happen throughout our community and the lives of those around us by serving as catalysts for positive change. Not only are we recruiting and retaining individuals who share similar values, but we also want our team members to know we care about causes and activities that are important to them. So in addition to company-sponsored CSR efforts, we encourage team members to share any personal community service initiatives they are involved in as part of our monthly All Hands meeting.
As for some of our other benefits, we are conveniently located near the Reston Silver Line metro and the Reston Town Center.
