Building Resilience with the Brain in Mind

Enhancing our personal resilience sits at the heart of high performance in today’s climate of seemingly perpetual change – and this has never been more important than now when every day presents us with more demands at a faster pace and constant connectivity to work.  In these conditions, we can only provide the best possible leadership and performance (at work AND at home) when we first take care of ourselves by enhancing our resilience.

This engaging, inspiring and application-oriented session offers key lessons and tactics in resilience, peak performance and change management drawn from the powerful intersection of the latest brain science and leadership development.  We will focus on 5 core elements of our overall resilience:  the physical, mindful, emotional, social, and spiritual components.

As a participant, you will:

  • Explore the individual and organizational implications of “resilience”
  • Gain an understanding of the key “brain basics” and their implications for managing change and related stress
  • Appreciate the powerful impact of sleep and exercise on overall resilience
  • Learn about the costs of multitasking and the importance of focus, attention, and willpower
  • Discover the centrality of the social/emotional brain, and the implications for relationships, team decision making and organizations
  • Take home simple and replicable practices and tactics in the 5 core areas of resilience for a better YOU in all of your life responsibilities and roles
  • Understand the difference between pressure and stress in your own life.
  • Learn how stress is created and how resilient people avoid it.
  • Explore the results of your personal resilience profile, outlining your approach to dealing with pressure.
