Helios HR Apollo Awards
The Helios HR Apollo Awards have been inspired by years of witnessing the proactive efforts of employers in the Washington metropolitan area as they create opportunity in their organizations by investing in employee development initiatives. Apollo recognizes those employers that promote employee development.
We see the impact of Apollo as returning nominees submit stronger applications each year. Apollo has created a spirit of sharing these best practices as all nominees are invited to attend quarterly round table sessions where specific programs are highlighted and implementation challenges and logistics shared.
We have found that there is a community of business leaders that are passionate about continued employee development. They recognize these programs are not only necessary in providing them a competitive advantage, but that they contribute to employee retention by developing strong managers and providing meaningful projects, credibility through enhanced certifications, and succession planning through promotional opportunities. Their efforts not only benefit the end client, but the individual and the community as well. We all benefit when standards are raised and individuals are provided the resources to meet challenging goals.
2010 Apollo Awards
The Apollo Awards are presented in multiple categories based on organization size: emerging, small, mid-size and large. An independent selection committee reviews the nominations received through a rigorous screening process and winners are announced at the annual awards ceremony. Finalists for the Apollo Awards are selected based on the following criteria:
• Professional development opportunities available to employees
• Ability to effectively communicate these programs to employees
• The robust nature of their performance management system
• Quantifiable impact of their employee development initiatives on the organization
Finalists will be recognized in SmartCEO magazine and honored at a VIP reception. Helios HR will announce the winners at the Apollo Awards breakfast ceremony on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Fairview Park Marriot in Falls Church, VA.
