Giving Back
Helios HR believes strongly in giving back to our community, recognizing that it is a privilege to be a productive member of the communities in which we work and live. In addition to participating in company-sponsored events, Helios HR team members also augment these efforts by donating their own time and resources to support those in need, as well as enlisting the support of their families and friends.
Through volunteer efforts Helios HR has provided sustained support to many organizations within the Washington metro area, including:
- Participation in food drives, walks for the homeless and coat drives for those supported by Reston Interfaith — a non-profit organization serving Northern Virginia that promotes self-sufficiency for those in need of food, shelter and affordable housing. Through the support of clients, colleagues and family, the Helios HR team has donated over 2,000 coats to date!
- Sponsorship and volunteer time in support of Northern Virginia Family Services’ CARE
(Companies as Responsive Employers) Awards.
- Active participation in
the Employer Advisory Committee (EAC) to
the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC),
including post-September 11, 2001 support
- when the events of 9/11 resulted in the
loss of numerous jobs in the region, Helios organized outreach
to over 30 employer volunteers who assisted VEC staff to rapidly
respond to the needs of those requesting unemployment insurance.
