Helios HR Honored As Great Place to Work Through CARE Awards

Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) selects Helios HR as a leader in family-friendly policies, employee engagement and community impact to receive its Companies As Responsive Employers (CARE) Awards.

(Reston, Va. – September 25, 2017)  For 25 years, the Companies As Responsive Employers (CARE) Awards, presented by Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS), have provided insight into employees and programs, offered a forum for innovative thinking and driven strategic changes in the workplace. This year, Helios HR will be honored as a responsive employer for its outstanding employee engagement and culture, progressive family-friendly policies and deep community impact.

The number one word used to describe Helios HR in a recent employee survey was “Caring”. Employees described the leadership team as trusting, having integrity, and having a vested interest in the employees; which are all essential components of a culture of caring and is reflective of their core value “Demonstrate Caring”. Helios HR’s PTO and Holiday policies are two components of their total compensation package aimed towards helping their team achieve a healthy work-life integration. Flexible Fridays, telecommuting, flex scheduling and a casual dress environment are a few more of the most used and appreciated benefits that demonstrate caring for their employees, families and their overall wellness.

“We are equally proud of our ability to Demonstrate Caring outside of the company and into our community.  While Helios does not believe that winning an award is the goal, we have found that winning such awards brings awareness to the importance of giving back to our local communities, inspires other organizations around us and provides leverage in supporting our cause. As such, Helios is humbled to receive an award such as CARE for our leadership and contributions to the community,” said Kathy Albarado, CEO.

CARE Award winners are selected based on their performance in the categories of flexible work arrangements, dependent care, work/family stress management, and benefits and community involvement.

“Workplace flexibility, employee well-being and community stewardship are great ways for Northern Virginia companies to demonstrate commitment to strong families and a strong community,” shares Stephanie Berkowitz, president and CEO at Northern Virginia Family Service. “Such values not only attract exceptional talent, they provide an opportunity for companies to make an impact on the community around them.”

Awards will be presented at the 25th Annual CARE Awards Breakfast, held Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. To commemorate this banner anniversary year, NVFS is a special panel of industry leaders to inspire business and workplace evolution in the years ahead.
